Don’t mess with man’s best friend! Ever since Robby’s father was killed while on police duty, Robby has been withdrawn and alone. His father’s partner, a police dog named Marlowe, suffers the same fate. After seeing Marlowe alone and locked up in a police kennel, Robby begs his mom to let him adopt Marlowe. The two become best friends, healing each other along the way. But Marlowe can’t quit being a cop dog and when he sees two familiar criminals in the woods (the same two criminals Robby’s father was investigating when he died) Marlowe snarls and chases them down. Robby and his friend Deb gives chase but are horrified to discover Marlowe has been hit by a passing car and is killed.
Robby slips back into his gloomy mood but that night, there is a howl in his dark and foggy back yard. Robby pads outside and is astonished to discover Marlowe is back! Robby and Deb soon discover that Marlowe has come back as a ghost to help them solve Robby’s father’s death and bring the hapless criminals to justice. But he’s going to need the help of the two eager kids.
